The Holocaust Memorial Center was bild in memory of the Macedonian Jews who on 10-11 March 1943, by the Bulgarian occupiers at Hitler's behest, were collected from Macedonia and deported to the Treblinka camp in Poland, where they were smothered in gas chambers. No one returned from Treblinka. Not one witness left to relate the horrors of the destruction of the Jewish population of Macedonia. The documents are the only witnesses to prove the fate of the Jews in Macedonia.
The Holocaust Memorial Center is a multimedia center, consisting of several functional parts.
